Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
SSP is an auditory intervention developed by Dr. Stephen Porges.
The SSP also is an intervention that helps restore the nervous system to feel safe and secure. It is designed to reduce stress. It also reduces auditory sensitivity which some people experience when they’re holding onto trauma in their system.
This intervention also enhances social engagement to develop resilience.
The complete SSP program comprises 3 main pathways that can only be accessed through and facilitated by, a qualified and certified professional.
Each of the SSP music tracks is composed of different filtered, unfiltered, and calming 5-hour music playlists for either children or adults.
The SSP music tracks are designed to help the nervous system better receive, process, and respond to the cues and signals from the world around us.
The goal is to be able to be more regulated and less driven by fear in our daily lives!
By helping to access this calm and grounded state, the SSP promotes a neural platform for health, growth, and restoration in patients experiencing the following challenges:
- Anxiety
- Inattention and Focus
- Auditory sensitivities
- Behavioral Regulation and Resilience
- Physical Coordination and Balance
- Reading and Auditory Processing
- Sleep
- Speech and Language
- Social and emotional difficulties
- Trauma and PTSD
- Stressors that impact social engagement
- And many more
